Highspirited first, thank you for the courage to share your story. Many people funnel through their daily lives, working and partially enjoying themselves -- batting with the same frustration you feel in this moment.

"my work life looked hopeful but along the way i found that even though am in hospitality and its taught that we have to be warm towards guests… i found people, senior managers fake, cold and heartless… i cant suck up to people, polish their ego’s.. i worked long hours, went out of my way to help out guests and make their stay wonderful but i realized end of the day it didn't matter…"

Your statement is true on many levels. Upper level management sometimes forget about the internal customer. No matter the organization -- No matter the person -- you must change from within FIRST. People are going to treat you how they feel. Therefore, if upper level management is frustrated, feel unappreciated, fake, heartless, etc..they are just going to pass the buck down to you. The beautiful thing about what you have done is treated the customer the way you wanted to be treated by your boss or by anyone. It inspires you and the person you are serving.

My best advice is to:
1. Renew your way of thinking.
2. Understand who you are and what you want. Journal your past. Journal your present. Journal your future.
2. Link with a mentor who will help you achieve your goals and inspire and move you toward achieving a realistic vision of the intended you.
3. Surround yourself with like minded people. Downside: You might loose a couple of old friends and associates who think the way you USED to think.
4. Take small steps and grow with the process. Be patient with yourself.
5. Be willing and open to change.

I hope this post has helped you. Smile
